Actress Kajal Agarwal has a good reason to be fuming and fretting the way she is.
FHM, a Mumbai-based men’s magazine has morphed her picture as a topless girl to gain some “cheap publicity” by stooping to the lowest practices of yellow journalism, the actress claims.
Kajal who arrived in B-town with the smashing success of Singham, had done a photo shoot for the magazine, but her fabricated topless picture was published on the cover, thereby tarnishing her image.
Her sister and actress Nisha Agarwal says that the gimmick has done a lot of damage to the actor’s image, adding that Kajal would never dream of doing such a thing.
She says the family was upset since they were getting innumerous calls from friends, family and well-wishers from the industry, expressing shock over the issue. “We had to explain to them that it was a morphed picture and exposed the unprofessional conduct of the publishing house,” she adds.
The actress and her spokesmen have gone on record time and again stating that she would never expose in the way the publication depicts her to have.
However, people in the industry feel that it is a publicity stunt to attract more offers from the Hindi cinema industry.
Kajal is denying even posing for such as shoot, least of all giving her consent for publishing such an image. She and her advisors are contemplating legal action against the magazine for allegedly morphing her pictures and damaging her reputation.
Kajal is currently working opposite hot actor Suriya in a film Maatran directed by K.V. Anand and she spoke exclusively to DC from Mumbai saying, “This is a distorted picture! I did shoot for the magazine, however not in this way. They have ‘Photoshopped’ and changed it. I also have the pictures they sent for my approval. Even those pictures I did not approve nor did I give them any interview. Now they have released a morphed version, which is wrong and unethical. I’m not the kind of person who would ever do a topless shoot. My team will take this up with the concerned magazine.”
When they were contacted, the authorities at the magazine said that they choose to remain silent and said that they would prefer if their legal department handled the issue if the actress initiates any proceedings.
However, it all turned out to be a scam not involving her at all.
