The Deols are sparing no expense to ensure daughter Esha Deol’s engagement is memorable. Adding a dose of glitz to the ceremony is Esha’s Rs 9 lakh designer lehenga, gifted to her by Papa Dharmendra.
Our sources have learnt that Hema apparently wants Sunday’s engagement to be an extremely hush-hush affair, and only family and some very close friends are expected to be present at the occasion. “The guest list is very small. It’s strictly family and a few colleagues. Hema and Dharamendra have sent out the invitations personally,” says our source.
As a result of which, even the wedding venue has been kept secret. The couple, it’s said, met on the sets of Tell Me Oh Khuda, and the family has kept the entire affair under wraps.
The highlight of Sunday’s festivities though, will be the presence of Sunny Deol. The Deols’ family equation with Hema and co. might be somewhat strained, but the children have always been in touch.
“Bobby, unfortunately, will not be attending, as he is busy playing in the Celebrity Cricket League. In his absence, Sunny will perform all the big brother duties. Hema too is ecstatic about Sunny’s presence,” a source close to the family says.
Parents of the bride, it seems, have ordered an exquisite ring for their son-in-law, and have also customised a bespoke lehenga, which alone costs around Rs 9 lakhs. “Hemaji has ordered a very expensive lehenga for Esha.
She herself will wear an exclusive Kanjivaram sari,” reveals Hema’s cousin Prabha, refusing to divulge more information.
It might be recalled that DC broke the news of Esha Deol quitting the film industry during the filming of TMOK. It was around the same time that she fell in love with Bharat.
