It didn’t take much to convince Akshay Kumar to step onboard Housefull 2. The actor admits that when it comes to Sajid Khan, he doesn’t have to think twice before saying “yes” to a film. And that faith has come from Sajid’s impeccable record with him, read the successes of Heyy Babyy and Housefull.
Akshay says, “I wouldn’t call it blind faith exactly. Sajid is not just a narrator; he is an explainer. He took months to explain his vision for the film to me. Once I was convinced, I blindly followed him and I can tell you that he has stuck to his vision.” Now we hope the audience doesn’t draw a blank after watching it.
It’s a ‘period’ challenge!
It seems finalising the casting for Shootout at Lokhandwala was the least of Sanjay Gupta’s problems. Now his producer Ekta Kapoor has asked him to alter his flashy style of filmmaking in order to do justice to his 80s period drama. A source from the production house says, “Sanjay has to move on from his usual slam-bam style and adapt to a new setting.”
The director doesn’t seem to mind that at all. “For starters I have to get rid of those cool looking cars and settle for Ambassadors instead,” laughs Sanjay, adding, “Even the guns and other props will have to change and I will need to merge my technique with the film’s story. But since Ekta and I are on the same page, I’m sure she would be thrilled with the results.” That’s no mean feat considering how choosy Ekta is. Good luck then Sanjay.
