Google is building new ‘secret’ test labs at its headquarters in California and the search engine giant has invested a massive $120 million dollars for the expansion plans.

According to Britain’s The Telegraph, the new facility at Googleplex, will include buildings that will block external radio waves and can test advanced new wireless projects. The lab will also look at the use of rare gases and innovative optical coatings.

The expansion will also house the ‘Google Experience Center’, a section that will serve as a combination of museum that will offer a history of the company’s achievements and meeting centres.

Google has already demonstrated new concepts for the ‘Android@Home’ brand, which would allow people to control light switches, music systems and domestic appliances through their smartphones.

Google is also reportedly modifying a separate lab to test an unspecified ‘precision optical technology’, as part of its ‘Project X’ scheme.
