Rahul Gandhi on Monday became the latest target of “shoegate” when a youth hurled a shoe at him while he was addressing an election rally here on Monday, barely two days after a similar incident with members of Team Anna.

The shoe fell 10 metres short of the Congress general secretary, Dehra Dun SSP G.N. Goswami told PTI. The youth, identified as Kuldip, was immediately taken into custody, Mr Goswami said adding he was being interrogated.
“Don’t hit him,” Mr Rahul Gandhi was heard telling security personnel and Congress supporters who caught the youth at his Vikasnagar rally.
