Every fifth murder in the capital is sexually motivated, Police Commissioner B.K. Gupta said on Friday.

Addressing the annual press conference of the Delhi Police, Gupta said: "According to the latest data, 18 percent of murders in Delhi are sex-related. Other prominent reasons for murders are sudden provocation and crime-related."

According to Gupta, family disputes were found to be behind only nine percent of murders. Enmity and disputes were the other chief motives during 2011.

"A worrying fact is that in 95 per cent cases, the perpetrators were found to have no previous criminal records," he added.

"That sex-related murders were such a big chunk of all such incidents in the capital, is just another pointer at the imminent need for sexual education and awareness in society," added Gupta.

Really sad knowing our country's capital affected by crime.LAwmakers & our politicians with the responsible officials must do something so that peoples life are changed.Coordination with states are important.Western influences must be checked internet,sattelite channels.Western films which hav adverse affect to our Indian psych must be banned.Social groups & authorities must educate the youth to be creative good citizens.

India is known for its values, culture, customs and Civilisation. The capital of India is Delhi and it is suffering from this type of crime rate which sound odd! "Every fifth murder in Delhi sexually motivated: Police" that, it is very heartbreaking news and it is our (our means society and Government and media) responsibility to eradicate this problems as soonn as possible.
Every life is important.... B'cos life is important.... Make use of it for the society....
It is a very serious issue which is threatening the present generation. 21st century is information and technology century; Technology is very essential for the society and this generation is very lucky enough to have such as TV, Internet and Cell Phones. If every technology is used for the betterment of the society upto optimum level is good for the society. Whereas in negative utilisation of the technology brings negative effects in the society.
Government, Society and Media together efforts for bringing awareness regarding sex education.
Media should play pivotal role in presenting the causes and consequences of the inhuman acts and crimes.
If it continues, no one can save our values and society.
