At least 414 people, including prominent citizens and singers, donated blood to show their love towards other human beings on the Valentines day, said to be the largest number of blood donors in the history of Mizoram.

Zikpuii, a local television presenter, who organised blood donations for three successive years on the day, said that today's (Tuesday's) programme was a great success as it was the largest number of blood donated in a day in the history of Mizoram.

The donation drive was supported by the Mizoram State AIDS Control Society and the Aizawl-based Association for Voluntary Blood Donation. Zikpuii said the responses from the general public was tremendous and the turnout of celebrities at the Civil Hospital here was remarkable.
