Putting the FM Phase-III e-auction process on the fast track, the government has constituted two committees for smooth conduct of the process likely to begin in a few months.

Sources in the information and broadcasting ministry stated that an inter-ministerial committee has been constituted to finalise and seek approval of the request for proposal document for selection of agency for conducting e-auction for award of license of FM channels. While an application review committee has been constituted for short listing of prospective bidders to participate in the e-auction.
The Union Cabinet had in 2011 cleared the third phase of expansion of FM Radio service.
