A prosecution witness on Wednesday told a Delhi court that Shahid Usman Balwa-promoted Swan Telecom Pvt. Ltd, accused in the 2G spectrum case, was incorporated by the employees of Reliance Infrastructure Ltd or its group companies.
Ashish Tambawala, senior executive vice-president (accounts and finance) Reliance Infrastructure Ltd, said Giraffe Consultancy Services (P)Ltd, Zebra Consultants (P)Ltd, Parrot Consultants (P)Ltd, Swan Capital (P)Ltd and Tiger Traders (P)Ltd, all alleged associates of Reliance ADA Group, were incorporated by the officials of his firm.
“It is correct that the aforesaid five companies — Swan Capital (P)Ltd, Tiger Traders (P)Ltd, Giraffe Consultancy Services (P)Ltd, Zebra Consultants (P)Ltd and Parrot Consultants (P)Ltd — were incorporated by the employees of Reliance Infrastructure Limited or its group companies.
“It is also correct that the process of opening of bank accounts of aforesaid five companies was started by Ramesh Shenoy, company secretary of Reliance Infrastructure Ltd,” he told special CBI judge O.P. Saini. He said Swan Capital (P)Ltd had changed its name to Swan Telecom Pvt. Ltd and subsequently its name was changed to Etisalat DB Telecom (P)Limited.

Bhanwari case: cbi to question ex-bjp leader

In a new twist in the Bhanwari Devi case, the CBI is now preparing to question a former BJP leader of Osian Assembly constituency of Rajasthan again in connection with the murder of the 36-year-old Jodhpur auxiliary nurse-cum-folk singer.
According to sources Shambhu Singh Khetasar, who was a BJP candidate from Osian Assembly seat against sacked Rajasthan minister Mahipal Maderna, has been again summoned by the agency for questioning. Earlier, he was questioned by the agency in the month of January. Mr Khetasar had later defected from the BJP.
Sources said, “Decision to question former BJP leader has been taken on the basis of revelations made by Amarchand, the husband of Bhanwari Devi. He allegedly wanted some CD related to Bhanwari Devi and Maderna from Amarchand.”
The agency officials want to question him infront of Amarchand this time, sources added. One more BJP leader of Osian is under the scanner of the CBI, sources said.
Meanwhile, the agency is set to arrest key absconding accused Indira Bishnoi, sister of former Congress MLA Malkhan Singh, in a day or two. Sources said the agency, which recently arrested her driver, has got some crucial leads about whereabouts of Indra Bishnoi. The CBI is now preparing to file final report in the Bhanwari Devi case before a local court in Jodhpur by February 20.
Probe by the agency has revealed that Indira was also part of the conspiracy.
