Positivity for peace

Positivity for peace

Meditation is my mantra for peace; it brings composure to my life, keeps me calm. I diligently meditate for 45 minutes every day. It is such an important part of my daily routine that I stick to it no matter where I am, or where I go. By meditation, I primarily mean breathing exercises and yoga. As a musician, one needs to have a tremendous amount of concentration.

Meditation helps me achieve peace by letting me focus all my creative juices and ideas in one direction…it helps me shut out the rest of the world, temporarily. I took to mediation two years ago and it has been an integral part of my life ever since.

Working out is another thing that helps me de-stress. During times that I feel restless or bored, I hit the gym. For me, it is a very positive way of releasing all your pent-up energy. When at the gym, I do 45 minutes of weight training and cardio respectively.

Then of course, there is music itself, which has a therapeutic quality of its own. I am one of those lucky people for whom work is relaxing. Creating music or listening to it helps me transcend this world and enter another. I enjoy all genres of music, although there are some that calm my nerves better than others.

Apart from these things, what really keeps me going is a positive attitude towards my life. I love to describe myself as an eternal optimist. Whatever the crisis or problem, a positive mindset will bail you out of it. It may not always be the solution, but it will definitely help you cruise through the situation that much more easily.

I strongly believe that if you allow negative thoughts to take over your mind, you are giving out the wrong signals to the universe and that will only attract more negativity.

Positive thinking is an attitude or a lifestyle that I have imbibed from my parents. They are the most optimistic couple I know and apart from a love for music, this is another thing I have probably inherited from them.
