Grape escapes

Grape escapes

Most wine lovers would swear by the calming effect a glass of wine can have, after a long and tiring day.

If you are one of them, here’s one more reason why you might want to indulge in the “grape” escape.

Vino therapy or vinotherapie as it’s known traditionally in French, brings forth the healing effects of the magic potion. Priced slightly higher than its humble counterparts made of natural ingredients like honey, aloe vera and aromatic oils, vino therapy, is skin care infused with the botanical power of a grapevine.

“Vino therapy is a process of rubbing the residues of wine making, like grape pulp, skin and seeds into the skin. It is mixed with grapeseed oil before it can be applied to the body. The oil’s astringent properties help in tightening the skin, leaving the skin feeling younger,” says spa consultant Geetika Narang, adding, “The residue is said to have exfoliation properties that improve blood circulation and exfoliate, making the skin feel supple and fresh.”

“Since grapes contain anti-oxidants like polyphenols and resveratol, they make for excellent skin conditioning agents,” she adds.
