Your pathway to happiness

Your pathway to happiness

Gratitude, being thankful are words which contain the highest vibrational frequency apart from the word love. The word gratitude comes from the Latin words: Gratia meaning favour, charm, and thanks, and Gratus meaning pleasing and grateful.

While merely appreciating something for its positive qualities do have a positive impact on our lives and emotions, gratitude takes it to the next step. Thanking the gifts that the Universe graces us with in each moment. When it comes to living with the attitude of gratitude, what I am trying to tell is looking at the more humble things in our day-to- day life that we can be thankful for. For instance, waking up with a roof on top of your head; being thankful for the breath and the oxygen that the Divine Universe gifts you with; being thankful for the hot and refreshing cup of tea that you drink each morning.

Like I mentioned earlier, it’s the little things in life that if one learns to show gratitude for, then one realises how much of abundance one already is blessed with in life. On some level, the warm emotional rush we feel when we really feel gratitude is like the glow we feel from realising we are unconditionally loved.

In fact, research shows that practising gratitude may be the fastest single pathway to happiness, health, long life, and prosperity. So how does one cultivate this “attitude of gratitude”!

Here are three simple and proven techniques that will naturally put you in the vibration of gratitude:

When you wake up each morning, thank the Universe/Divine/Source/God for gifting you this day. Today will be like no other day again in your life. I guess that’s why it’s called the “present” (gift)!

Count your blessings: Each time you feel low or let down, or un-thankful, just count all the things that you can be thankful for.

Say thank you to your loved ones, your spouse, your children, your household help, the bus driver, the rickshaw driver, your car driver, the restaurant waiter, and just about anyone and everyone for the smallest, most mundane favours that they may have made for you, even if it is their duty. Look into their eyes and really express the gratitude. You will realise how quickly your relationships will change!

Today, in this moment, I too thank you for taking your precious time out and reading this little article!
