
Hamburgers are hot now in the party food scene! Children too seem to enjoy this Western snack. Though the calorie and health aspect of 'over the shelf' hamburgers is debatable, here is an easy-to-make hamburger recipe that you can make right at home.
We also bring you a delectable Pakoda recipe. Besides the fact that it is completely easy to make what adds to pakoda's allure is the fact that all of us have lovely memories of munching on them and reading our favorite books, lying on a couch on a rainy day.
Bread Pakoda
Ingredients:
2 slices bread
1 egg
1 onion
4 green chillies
Salt to taste
A few coriander leaves
Method:
* Soak the bread in water for a few minutes.
* Chop green chillies , coriander leaves and onion.
* Add to the soaked bread.
* Beat the egg and mix with bread mixture.
* Add salt and mix well.
* Make into balls and deep fry in hot oil.
Hamburger
Ingredients:
Half kg minced meat
A handful of onions, chopped
6 green chillies, chopped
1 tsp pepper powder
6 cloves, powdered
2 inch piece cinnamon, powdered
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp vinegar
2 eggs, beaten
A few mint leaves, chopped
Bread crumbs as required
Oil to fry
For hamburgers
2 buns
Onion rings
Capsicum rings
Tomato rings
Method (for patty):
* Mix together the meat, chopped onion and green chillies, powdered pepper, cloves and cinnamon.
* Add salt and vinegar to the meat.
* Beat two eggs and add to mint leaves.
* Mix all together and form into balls.
* Flatten and roll in bread crumbs and fry till golden brown.
* Transfer to a plate.
Method (for hamburgers):
* Cut each of the buns into two.
* Place one patty in one half and cover with the other piece.
* Combine the two pieces by piercing a toothpick above the second piece of bun.
* Cut each of the buns into two.
* Place one onion ring, one capsicum ring and one tomato ring on the toothpick alternatively.
