‘Reading helps in tough times’

‘Reading helps in tough times’

Tushar Gandhi, author

I am an avid reader and I simply love reading. I think books are one of the best ways to develop one’s personality.

The books that had a deep impact on me were introduced to me during my teens. They were very popular books back then. The first book that influenced me was Richard Bach’s Jonathan Livingston Seagull. It is a beautiful story of Seagull and his flight. The book inspires and talks about human aspirations.

The other book that I love is Ernest Hemingway’s The Old Man and the Sea. This is an inspirational book, which exemplifies struggles of life, and never-say-never attitude of a man. I go back to these two books whenever I am going through a difficult phase. They help me find solutions to my problems. These books have remained with me for quite a long time now.

I am a regular reader of pulp fiction. My favourite pulp fiction author is Wilbur Smith. The Story of My Experiments with Truth by Mahatma Gandhi is my all time favourite book. I also read books that are related to my work. Recently I picked up The Kite Runner for casual reading and I just loved it.
