Patients are facing hardship at the government general hospital (GGH) here due to lack of services of junior doctors. Several beds were seen empty at the hospital. Though officials claim that over 75 doctors were deputed from other places, patients allege delay in treatment due to lack of doctors.

Over 107 junior doctors are on strike in the city. It is said that the number of operations came down to two or three daily, from 20 in the past.

Officials deny reports of deaths due to lack of treatment. They said that treatment was available to patients as usual.

Patients registered as outpatients are forced to wait for treatment for several hours. Over 1,000 persons are registering as outpatients at the government general hospital daily.
