The Vigilance and Enforcement sleuths on Monday detected Rs.40 lakh worth irregularities in the supply of non-detailed books to the schools under the Rajiv Vidya Mission project. The vigilance personnel raided the office of the RVM at Chittoor district headquarters, and seized a file containing details of the invoice and supply of books in 2010.
RVM district project officer B. Maheswar Reddy told this newspaper that the vigilance personnel had taken the file from the office, but the investigation was pertaining to 2010, during which time one Mr Chitti Babu was the in-charge of the RVM.
It was found that the vigilance staff had detected the unauthorised circulation of the books meant for supply in 2010 in the recent months at various places in the district.
