Alarmed at the ongoing stir of the junior doctors, the authorities of the SVRR Government Hospital, one of the largest referral hospitals in Rayalaseema, have deployed a force of 30 doctors to overcome the crisis at the emergency wing on Monday.
The number of inpatients had drastically come down since two days due to lack of emergency care, creating fear psychosis among patients.
Several of the pat-ients who turn up at the ho-spital’s outpatient wards too are leaving in despair with non-availability of st-aff.
About 149 junior docto-rs and 147 PG students ha-ve abstained from their du-ties at the emergency ward.
Meanwhile, two patients had died at the emergency ward of the hospital here during the last 24 hours.
Some of the patients deplored that District Medical and Health Officer, Dr Lalitha Kumari, was not prompt in pooling the required number of doctors at the SVRR hospital.
