Madurai rural police on Wednesday arrested Bose Muthiah, the DMK councllior of city corporation and brother of Essor Gobi, a close associate of union minister M.K.Alagiri, on charge of landgrab.

According to the complainant S. Rose, wife of Stanislass Rajan, she was living in a house built by her husband on six cents in Avaniapuram with loan from a cooperative bank in Chokkikulam in the city.

She took Rs 60,000 from B. Kaliammal, mother of the accused, due to family circumstances, against which she was forced to sell her house worth Rs 35 lakh.

A document was also registered at the sub-registrar’s office. In return, Rose was allowed to reside in the same house.

Later, Kaliammal and her sons Bose Muthiah and Eswaran trespassed in to her house and occupied it after making her vacate it forcibly.

Though the complainant was ready to repay the amount she had borrowed from Kaliammal, the trio refused to get it and return the property.

They intimidated to do her away if she raked up the issue presently, Rose charged.
