A team of TTD officials is on a two-day visit to Prashanti Nilayam here to study the working of Satya Sai Seva Dal to replicate it in the abode of Lord Venkateswara too.
The 27-member team visited Satya Sai Samadhi on Wednesday morning before meeting trust secretary Prasada Rao, members Madras Srinivas and R.J. Rathnakar who explained the history and modus operandi of the famed Satya Sai Seva Dal to them.
They said the Seva Dal was established by Sai Baba in 1960 and in the last five decades, the organisation spread to several areas and made a mark with its self-less and dedicated service to the devotees and the cause of spirituality. The trust member explained the various services being provided by the Seva Dal in several wings of the trust.
Later, the TTD team visited shopping complex, books and publishing division, north and south Indian canteens, Chaitanya Museum, super speciality hospital, accommodation, security and other wings of the Prashanti Nilayam and observed the commendable role being played by the Seva Dal volunteers in them. They were particularly impressed by the way the volunteers studiously cleaned the plates at the canteen. The TTD officials also acquainted themselves with the process of Seva Dal volunteers’ selection, their annual schedule and daily routine.
TTD OSD Damodaram, TTD public relations officer Ravi, GM, Transport, Sesha Reddy, TTD additional chief vigilance officer Shiva Kumar Reddy and others were part of the TTD team.
PRO Ravi told reporters that the team was studying working of Satya Sai Seva Dal volunteers to implement the model for TTD employees too in order to improve the service to pilgrims.
