The heavy industries minister, Ms J. Geeta Reddy, said that she would take all steps to establish industries in Anantapur district. She visited the Satya Sai Maha Samadhi here on Sunday.
Speaking to mediapersons, the minister said that 16 industries would be set up in the district. Of them, five were under construction. She said that industries would be expanded with an investment of Rs.10,000 crore and MoUs were signed for this.
The minister said that all steps would be taken to establish industries here to remove the insecurity among local people after the death of Satya Sai Baba. The minister suggested that leaders of all parties, local MLA and district ministers unitedly strive for the development of Puttaparthi and added that she would also cooperate.
She said that industries should be established so that the sanctity of Puttaparthi was not affected. Ms Geeta Reddy said that she would hold discussions with the in-charge minister and district ministers to complete works already sanctioned to Puttaparthi.
She said that a medical college in association with the Puttaparthi super speciality hospital would be established if the Satya Sai Central Trust asked for this. Ms Geeta Reddy held discussions with Satya Sai Central Trust secretary Chakravarthi and Ratnakar. Later, she meditated for an hour near the Satya Sai Sa-madhi.
