The process of appointments for the posts of VRO and VRAs will be completed by March-end, said the minister for revenue, Mr N. Raghuveera Reddy.

The process of appointments for the posts of VRO and VRAs will be completed by March-end, said the minister for revenue, Mr N. Raghuveera Reddy.

The minister inspected the Government Junior College, a test centre for the VRO and VRA written exam here on Sunday.

He was accompanied by legislator, Mr Sudhakar, MLC, Mr Gundumala Tip-peswamy and joint collector, Ms Anita Ramachan-dran.

After the exam, he interacted with VRO and VRA aspirants. They sought grace marks, referring to a question, “Who is the Min-ister for Agriculture

” for which there was no correct answer in the given multiple choices. Mr Raghuv-eera promised to forward the issue to the committee.

Later speaking to reporters, he said that 70 per cent of the applicants had taken the test, statewide. In Anantapur, it was 78 per cent.

He expressed satisfaction over the smooth conduct of the VRO/VRA exam. The minister said that the ‘key’ will be released in two days.

Mr Raghuveera said that they had made arrangements for the completion of selection and appointment process by March-end.

The selected candidates will be trained in Hyderabad and sent to their respective appointment places by April, the minister said.

Mr Raghuveera Reddy said that state government will argue in the Karnataka High Court over the Sriram Reddy drinking water plan.

He clarified that the Karnataka High Court, in its order, recently, had directed the AP government to present its arguments but not repealed the Sriram Reddy drinking water project.

On February 14, the High Court ordered Karnataka to stop water supply to AP from the Tungabhadra dam till drinking water was supplied to Pavagada and adjoining areas.

The water quota from Tungabhadra to PABR should be increased to give water to Pavagada, the minister said.

He said that state government was ready to present its arguments on March 6 in the Karnataka High Court.

He said that state government will write a letter to Karnataka Chief Minister, Mr Sadananda Gowda, to find a resolution to the issue.
