Indian Oil Corporation’s LPG filling was suspended temporarily at the Paripally filling plant near Kollam on Monday following a shortage of LPG, and IOC officials said things will be back to normal by Tuesday morning.
One of the three filling plants in the state, the Paripally plant caters to the requirements of the four southern districts — Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha.
It is learned that the strike called by the owners of the Bullet Gas Tankers last week seriously affected gas transportation from Mangalore to Kerala.
For the last one week, the plant in Paripally was not able to supply its average load of 65 to 70 trucks a day to the four districts.
“It was a minor issue that is blown out of proportion. The plant had operated on Monday morning and will function normally on Tuesday. Today there was a small hitch as a load from Kochi could not reach the plant due to transportation problems. But the load will reach by night,” the IOC officials said.
