Several MCA students of colleges affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) are in a fix as their final semester MCA results have not been announced even two months after the examination was held.
Many of the students who were recruited by IT companies in campus placements have been told to join by January 31, but cannot do so until the results are announced.
Most students expected the university to come out with the results by the end of December or early January as it had done in the past and are upset at having to wait so long.
The university itself seems uncertain about the announcement of results. “We hope to release the result soon. We are already issuing confidential marksheets to students who need placement,” Controller of Examination, MGU, Dr
Thomas J. Mampra told Deccan Chronicle on Wednesday.
But the confidential mark sheets are of little use to some of the students, who claim that companies like Accenture are insisting on the original final marksheets before they can join them.
Around a 1,000 students from over 22 colleges had appeared for the final semester examination last November.
