Several of the city’s schools are going for big auditoriums to facilitate both celebratory and academic events.

A 10,000 sq ft auditorium that can accommodate over 1,000 persons will come up at the Saraswathy Vidyaniketan, Elamakkara, in a year at an estimated cost of over Rs 5 crore.

“The ground floor of the multi-storey building will be basically used as a dining hall while the rest of the space will be utilised for holding anniversaries and other celebrations.

On the academic front, we plan to conduct videoconferencing and use it as a discussion venue,” said manager Sree Kumar K S. The auditorium will have all facilities for Wi-fi connectivity, a huge screen and projector among others, he said, adding that construction works are expected to be completed in 12 months.

The auditorium which will have provisions for air-conditioning, will also have over 10 small rooms with accommodation facilities.
