AIMS promises minimum wages

Amritha Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) here on Friday agreed to give minimum wages to all nurses but sought more time to consider their other demands including “fair salary.”

The nurses here had issued a notice to the management to strike work from February 21 if their demands were not met.

Another round of discussions was scheduled on February 18. “The management has accepted 10 of the 14 demands.

On the outstanding four, they will give a reply on February 18,” said regional joint labour commissioner Mr Vincent Alex who convened the talks.
