With the aim of reaching out to 1,000 youth from 50 orphan homes in the days to come, the Yashoda Charitable Foundation (YCF) initiated an employment linked training programme (ELTP) on Sunday. Training and placement in 59 vocational, diploma and certificate courses, depending on the eligibility, will be provided to youngsters.
In the first batch, as many as 60 orphaned youth will be trained in different professions including nursing, customer relations, hospitality and sales, beauty culture, fashion designing, computer repairing and other employment generating fields. Speaking at the launch of the initiative, Tamil Nadu Governor K. Rosaiah lauded the social initiative of the charity foundations of business houses, especially in providing employment to orphaned youths.
Yashoda Group of Hospitals chairman G. Ravinder Rao said, “YCF was established as an initiative that would include education, rural development and upliftment of underprivileged youth. The main objective of the training programme is to create multiple opportunities and provide platforms enabling orphaned youth to emerge as significant contributors to our country’s growth.”
