
Political bigwigs made a beeline to Shiva temples across the state on Mahashivaratri day with a wish list.
Ministers, MLAs, MPs, MLCs and other political leaders offe-red prayers at various Shiva temples including Brahmara-mbha Mallikarjuna Swamy temple, Srisa-ilam, Kotappa Kon-da, Srikalahasti, Draksharamam among others.
Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha visited Vana Durga temple at Yedupayala near Medak on the occasion of temple Jatra. “Congress is ready for bypolls,” he said.
While Leader of the Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu offered prayers at Ramali-ngeswara Swam, Keesaragutta in Ranga Reddy district to seek divine help for the problems facing the state, TRS president K. Chan-drasekhar Rao pra-yed for a separate Telangana state.
Mr Chandrasekhar Rao, who offered prayers along with his family members and party leaders at the famed Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple at Vemulawada in Karimnagar district, said he prayed for Telangana by next Shivaratri.
“I prayed to the Lord to ensure Telangana by next Shivarati. Next Shivaratri should be celebrated in Telangana state," he said, adding that temples in Telangana region had been neglected under the rule of Seemandhra leaders.
