The AP High Court on Wednesday refused to suspend the Central Administrative Tribunal order against Unique Identification Authority of India deputy director-general V.S. Bhaskar. The court asked for the final decision taken by disciplinary authority after it received the report from the committee that inquired into the allegations of sexual harassment against Mr Bhaskar. The court pointed out that though the inquiry committee submitted its report in July 2011, and questioned why the disciplinary authorities have not initiated any action on the report. The CAT had directed the UIDAI to initiate disciplinary proceedings against the official and also transfer him from his present posting at Hyderabad within two weeks.
Wife of Murder Accused fined Rs 50,000
Justice R. Subhash Reddy on Wednesday imposed a penalty of Rs 50,000 on P. Sridevi, wife of P. Venkat Rao, prime accused in the sensational killing of baby Naga Vaishnavi in Vijayawada city. Sridevi approached the High Court contended that her husband was falsely implicated in the case and the investigation in the case was biased. She urged the court to order fresh investigation in the case. After perusing the records of the investigation, the judge found no reason to interfere.
