Kiran laughs off criticism

Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday refused to react to the health minister D.L. Ravindra Reddy’s allegations of bribing the AICC leadership to get plum posts in the government stating that this is an irrelevant statement. On the news about the health minister Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy said he received a communication in this regard.

Asked about bungling in conducting of recruitment tests, the Chief Minister, in a lighter vein, said it would be better if the government did not take up any good work so that it would be spared from criticism. He then said that there might be small mistakes which would be rectified. The Chief Minister reiterated that the selection of Information Commissioners was unanimous. “No dissent note from the Leader of the Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu came to my notice,” he said, adding that the media would criticise either in case of unanimity in the selection panel or differences.

Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy also made light of Mr Naidu’s criticism about his skills in Telugu. “The less I talk about him, the better,” he said. He also dismissed the allegations that he has a special fund of `400 crore at his disposal to keep Congress MLAs in good humour. “There are several Opposition MLAs who received funds from my discretionary quota,” he said.
