CBI: Srilakshmi was keen on land for OMC

The CBI said senior IAS officer, Y. Srilakshmi, showed undue interest in the allotment of 25 hec-tares of mining area in Ananthapur district, reserved for AP Mineral Development Corpor-ation, to Obulapuram Mining Company .

According to the chargesheet filed by CBI, OMCPL submitted an application on June 14, 2007, to the then Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, requesting for allotment of lease area based on the contentions that APMDC did not have necessary clearances. In the same application, OMCPL stated that area was needed for mining the iron ore for captive use in the steel plant being set up by them.

According to CBI, Srilakshmi in furtherance of conspiracy with B.V. Srinivas Reddy and Gali Janardhan Reddy, had taken undue interest by continuously persisting with the then minister of mines, Sabita Indra Reddy to allot 25 hectares to OMCPL.

But the minister advised her not to pursue the matter further.
