CBI grills Sunil, Vijay Raghavan

The Central Bureau of Investigation has grilled Y.S. Jagan’s aide, Mr N. Sunil Reddy and south finance head of Emaar MGF, G.V. Vijay Raghavan, regarding the diversion of Emaar- APIIC Township’s scam money. The alleged bigwigs will be included in the case only if the duo spills the beans. The duo was brought to the Dilkusha Guest House from the Chanchalguda jail after the AP High Court granted police custody. Interestingly, the initial figures of the scam have declined from Rs 4,300 crore to a few hundreds of crore in the counter petition filed by the CBI against Acharya’s bail.

The CBI said that the investigation disclosed that Emaar MGF earned a gross revenue of Rs 342.8 crore from the sale of villas, plots and apartments between 2006 and 2011. However, this amount is excluding Boulder Hills, the convention centre and lease issues. According to the development agreement between Emaar Hills Township Private Limited and Emaar MGHF Land Limited, EHTPL was entitled to a 25 per cent share in the revenue, amounting to Rs 85 crore. The CBI questioned the duo about handing over of the money. They were shifted back to the Chanchalguda jail after being examined by a doctor at 5 pm.
