A trustee of Dharma Thoppu Trust on Monday lodged a complaint against former DMK minister Parithi Elamvazhuthi and his aides alleging that they had usurped the trust’s seven-acre land worth Rs 200 crore at Villivakkam by forging documents.
The complaint also dragged in the name of DMK president M. Karunanidhi.
Mr Ranga Reddy, who filed the complaint with Chennai city police commissioner J.K. Tripathy, alleged that Mr Elamvazhuthi, his assistant Kakari and other DMK functionaries claimed to have acqui-red the property on July 10, 2010. In the registration documents, Kakari and DMK men ‘Sidco’ Vasu and Chittibabu signed as witnesses.
Mr Reddy said the land was later sold by Kakari to realtor Doshi Builders, owned by Sarshad V. Doshi, whom the complainant said was a benami of DMK chief M. Karunanidhi’s grandson Udhayanidhi Stalin.
He said the deal would not have happened without the knowledge of Mr Karunanidhi.
Jaffar suspended
*Former state intelligence chief M.S. Jaffar Sait was placed under suspension by the state government on Monday.
*Karunanidhi has been maintaining that false land-grab cases were being foisted on his party members by the AIADMK government “out of political vendetta”.
