About 150 employees of the erstwhile International Airports Authority of India (IAAI) undertook a candlelight procession demanding inter-se seniority with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) officers at the Chennai airport on Thursday.
The IAAI members started their candlelight protest from the international terminal at 5.45 pm.
After reaching the domestic terminal, they shouted slogans and disbursed at 6.45 pm.
The IAAI employees have been wearing black badges to work and holding demonstrations during lunch hour apart from sticking to work rule since December 5, 2011.
IAAI officers association president S.T.F. Murthy told Deccan Chronicle that the erstwhile IAAI employees were not given promotions on a par with AAI employees.
“The IAAI was merged into AAI in 1995 and even after 15 years we are denied promotions and parity with AAI employees,” he added.
