Bizman among four killed in bizarre mishap

Four people were killed and six hurt in a multiple collision involving a Puducherry-bound government bus and two private cars on GST Road near Maduranthagam in Kancheepuram district around 10 am Monday.
The bus hit a Tata Sumo parked on roadside with a flat tyre.

The impact threw the Sumo over the median and it landed on the other side of the road colliding with another car coming from Chidambaram.

While two passengers of each car were killed, three passengers each in the Sumo and bus were injured.
The dead include Sumo passengers Ramasubramanian, 72, a retired superintendent of slum clearance board, and Seeman, and Bhoo-minathan, 45, an expor-ter from KK Nagar, and driver Sabapathy.

Sumo driver had gone looking for help to repair the tyre when the accident happened. Police said the Sumo, going from Chengalpet to Melmaruvathur, had no spare.
