Second FIR against HDK

The Lokayukta police have registered an FIR against former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, former minister Chennigappa and others in a case of illegal de-notification of land in Arkavathy Layout. The Lokayukta court on January 2 ordered an investigation into allegations made by M S Mahadevaswamy.

The complaint said HDK as Chief Minister de-notified survey number 84/1 (of 3.8 acres) at Thanisandra in October 2007, which was under acquisition for Arkavathy Layout. The BDA had reportedly created 58 sites in the same land and allotted 38. However, on the recommendation of Chennigappa, the then Chief Minister HDK passed de-notification orders for the entire survey number 84/1. This caused huge loss to the state exchequer, the complainant claimed.

The complaint had also listed all the land owners as the accused in the case. The land was notified and also acquired by the BDA and land owners were paid compensation. The BDA had also executed lease-cum-sale deeds in favour of the site allotees and collected money from them. Despite all this, Chennigappa allegedly submitted a petition to the government asking for the land to be returned to the original owners. The Lokayukta police are investigating another case in which H D Kumaraswamy is an accused. In the FIR naming three former Chief Ministers, the Lokayukta police are probing allegations of renewing mining leases to a dubious company.

Hearing against 3 ex-CMs adjourned
The Lokayukta special court has adjourned hearing into private complaints against former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and others in three cases. The court adjourned 1st and 4th complaint to January 13, and posted hearing into the 5th complaint to January 16. The court also adjourned the case against three former chief ministers till February 2. The court had ordered investigation into the three former CMs, S M Krishna, Dharam Singh and H D Kumaraswamy, for their roles in illegal mining. The court issued orders for investigation on December 3 and had directed the police to submit the report on January 6.

13 BBMP officials denied bail
A fast track court has rejected the anticipatory bail applications filed by 13 BBMP officials. Fast track court-12 judge Manogoli Premavati rejected the applications as CID investigations are still going on in the alleged BBMP scam in three divisions. Interestingly, the FIR in the alleged irregularities did not name any one in particular. The complainant, Mr B.F. Patil, joint commissioner, had only stated that there was large-scale misappropriation of money in asphalting work at Gandhinagar, Malleswaram and Rajarajeshwarinagar.
