Karnataka's new tourism minister wants NRKs to invest in tourism projects

Priyank Kharge said that the government is formulating a policy to ensure more investment flow.

Bengaluru: The Karnataka Tourism Awards-2016, organised by Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and industry (FKCCI), was on Monday conferred on various individuals and organisations, who have contributed to the the development of state's tourism.

Speaking at the maiden Karnataka Tourism Awards, Tourism and IT- BT Minister Priyank Kharge said that the government is formulating a policy to ensure more investment flow.

“The government is chalking out a path to attract NRIs and Kannadigas residing in foreign countries to invest in the state. The government already has an NRI policy and under this, we want people to invest with small amounts, like $5-10 million. The incentives and legal aspects on this are presently looked into."
The department is also working on modalities to make Bengaluru as a brand city destination on the lines of London and New York.
