IoT-enabled product may revamp teaching in India

Currently, the product is still at experimental stage, It uses a projector and an IoT device.

Hyderabad: Thousands of students from rural India to relocate to cities for studying under best teachers, causing financial strain on their parents. How would it be if students in villages can access best teaching from remote location live and interactive? This is what a product being developed at Microsoft Garage at Hyderabad aims to do.

According to a Microsoft official, the product ‘Anywhere Board’ would allow students sitting in different remote locations to watch teacher’s lecture and also let students in one location solve the problem on the board remotely and yet be visible to all other groups.

Currently, the product is still at experimental stage, It uses a projector and an IoT device. The product does not require very high speed data connections, which is non-existent in villages, as it breaks down the image before transmitting to the remote users.

Taking inspiration from all the great companies that started in a garage, Microsoft had launched the Garage in 2009 for encouraging and incubating grassroots innovation among its employees. It gives workers access to tools such as a soldering bench, a laser cutter and a 3D printer.
