Indo-China trade volume to touch USD 65 bn during 2016

China will be focusing on financial, infrastructure, electronics and Information Technology sectors.

Mumbai: The bilateral trade volume between India and China is expected to be over USD 65 billion for 2016 and focus by China will be in financial, infrastructure, electronics and Information Technology sectors, a senior Chinese official said here today.

"The bilateral trade stood at USD 52.14 billion till January to September 2016 and we expect the trade volume will touch USD 65 billion during 2016 " said Wang Shicai, Commercial Counselor, Consulate General of The People's Republic Of China.

Speaking at the fourth edition of China Homelife and China Exhibition 2016, Shicai said the mutual corporation between the two countries has been a win-win situation for both and will help increasing profitability in coming years. He emphasised that the key sectors in India which were focused by China are financial, infrastructure, electronics and IT.

China Homelife and China Machinex 2016 in association with their National Partners CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) organised three days exhibition here starting today. Former Secretary, DIPP Ajay Shankar said, 'the trade between both the countries is growing rapidly.

The Chinese manufacturing companies can participate in our 'Make in India' programme." Chinese companies will display their products and machines covering a range of sectors at twin trade shows being held here next week.

Over 1,000 of the topmost Chinese suppliers will be part of China Machinex, where they will display over 20,000 products during the event. China Machinex is a global series of China products show annually held across nine counties - Brazil, Turkey, South Africa, Poland, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Jordan,UAE and India.

Pan Jianjun, Chairman of Meorient International Exhibition said, "China Homelife and China Machinex have witnessed a remarkable success in the last three year with 15,500 business visitors in the previous edition and this year it is expected to cross over 20,000 visitors".
