Tata to join TRS' flagship 2BHK project for poor

Hyderabad: Minister for IT, municipal administration, panchayat raj and rural development K.T. Rama Rao on Monday met Tata Group chairman Cyrus Mistry and Reliance Group Chairman Mukesh Ambani in Mumbai seeking investments in Telangana.

Mr Rao sought Tata-AIG group’s help in the construction of 2BHK houses for poor, which remains the flagship programme of the TRS government.

Tata Group, which already made big investments in Telangana in aerospace and defence sectors, has expressed its willingness to scale up the Tata Group’s operations in Telangana.

“I am happy to inform that the Tata Group has expressed its keen interest to expand its activities in Telangana. It even agreed to partner with Telangana government in building 2BHK houses for poor,” Mr Rao said.

Later, the minister also met Reliance Group chairman Mukesh Ambani and sought investments in retail, telecom and other sectors in Telangana.

Mr Rao explained the industry-friendly policies being implemented by the Telangana government and sought Reliance Group’s cooperation for achieving rapid growth in industrial sector.
