Japanese business team to take part in Kerala B2B meet

Indo-Japan Chamber of Commerce - Kerala (INJACK) is also a signatory to the MoU.

Kochi: A 39-member Japanese business delegation is arriving on Wednesday to participate in the ‘Kerala B2B meet Vyapar 2017’ being organized by Government of Kerala from February 2 to 4 at Bolgatty Palace here. This is being done as a sequel to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that already exists between Kerala and the Sanin and some other regions of Japan for promoting wide-ranging economic exchanges. The MoU was signed during the visit of Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, on December 11, 2015.

Indo-Japan Chamber of Commerce - Kerala (INJACK) is also a signatory to the MoU. The Japanese delegation is arriving with specific interest in Ayurveda and fisheries sector of the state and will have discussion with stakeholders. Food processing, water purification, solid waste management and IT are also of interest. The delegation consists of 23 members representing Lake Nakaumi, Lake Shinji regions and Mt. Daisen Area Mayors Association and Economic Council and the Sanin India Association in Japan.

The delegates will be headed by Mr. Hideto Nagaoka, chairman of the Lake Nakaumi, Lake Shinji and Mt. Daisen Area Mayors Association and Mr. Makoto Furuse, chairman emeritus of Sanin India Association and special advisor of Sanin Godo Bank Ltd. The delegation also consists of senior government officials, members from industry and trade. There is another 16 member team headed by Mr. Takeshi Kanetsuki, vice-secretary general of Lake Nakaumi, Lake Shinji and Mt. Daisen Area Mayors Association.
