Jobs of 3,000 employees safe as Infosys announces reassignments

According to earlier reports, Infosys was to lay off over 3,000 people following a contract issue with RBS.

Infosys has recently said that it will ramp-down about 3,000 jobs following Royal Bank of Scotland’s decision to cancel the project to set up a separate bank in the UK. “Subsequent to this (RBS) decision, we will carry out an orderly ramp-down of about 3,000 persons, primarily in India, over the next few months,” the IT major had disclosed on its website.

However, Infosys have now clarified that the employees are not affected by this. In fact, they will simply be redeployed on other projects within the company.

“We would like to clarify that there are no job losses and that all employees affected by the ramp down that will take place over the next several months will be redeployed on other projects,” the company said in a statement.
