Mumbai: Maharashtra government has sanctioned Rs 92,561 to Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) for financial year 2016-17 as payment for lease of six buses that were engaged in ferrying those detained during the MNS anti-toll agitation in 2014.

According to a recent Government Resolution (GR), the buses were taken from Bhiwandi and Thane to ferry those arrested on February 12, 2014, during the agitation against toll plazas by MNS to places concerned.

The GR said the amount is being sanctioned from the grant to district police force for 2016-17. MNS had launched the agitation to abolish toll in the state ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha and state assembly polls.
