Rado announces the Rado Star Prize India 2019 at India Art Fair, 2019

The theme of the Rado Star Prize India 2019 is Design with Timeless Appeal'.

Pioneering Swiss watch brand Rado, which is known for revolutionising the watch industry with its high-tech materials and design-led collections, has joined forces with India Art Fair 2019 for the first time ever as the Official Timekeeper.

At a special presentation, Rado announced the first ever Rado Star Prize India and opened the call for entries. The Rado Star Prize aims to promote up-and-coming designers, giving them a platform to show their work to a panel of industry experts as well as the wider public.

During the 2019 India Art Fair, the Rado exhibition area will showcase the work of global designers Rado has worked with and provide inspiration for India’s young designers to take part in the inaugural Indian edition of Rado Star Prize. The theme of the Rado Star Prize India 2019 is ‘Design with Timeless Appeal’.

Entries for the Rado Star Prize India are officially open from January 31, 2019 until the closing date of April 30, 2019. All entries must be submitted on https://radostarprize.rado.com/india

Ten finalists and one winner of the Rado Star Prize India will be selected by a jury of local and international design professionals. The winner will receive INR 3,00,000 in prize money as well as a Rado watch. All finalists will have the opportunity to display their entries during the next Rado event. An additional Public Vote winner will receive a Rado watch.

Jagdip Jagpal, Director, India Art Fair

Jagdip Jagpal is the Director of India Art Fair, where she is responsible for the strategic enhancement of the fair, as well as expanding activities in India and internationally. She has over 30 years experience in numerous creative industries including arts and culture, publishing and media, luxury and fashion. Jagpal is a champion of South Asian art, heritage and design.

Tagra & Thukral, Artist/Designer duo

Jiten Thukral and Sumir Tagra work collaboratively with a wide range of media including painting, sculpture, installations, interactive games, video, performance and design. Thukral & Tagra work on new formats of public engagement and attempt to expand the scope of what art can do. They break out of the mediated and disciplinary world and create multi-modal sensory and immersive environments.
