Volkswagen cars are likely to get the new 6.5-inch infotainment system of the recently launched Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo Edition. The car featured sporty styling inside-out coupled with some additional features. The cabin's highlight is the new infotainment system, known as the 'Drive'. It is likely that VW would soon introduce this in its entry level cars like the Polo, Polo Cross, Ameo and the Vento.

The recently launched Hyundai Verna, which is one of the arch rivals of the Vento, offers the most advanced touchscreen unit in the segment. You get a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with Android-based smartphone remote and an IPS wide-angle display.

The Hyundai Xcent, which is a rival to the VW Ameo, also has a 7-inch unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Maruti’s 7-inch system, equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, is offered in the Baleno (Polo rival), Dzire (Ameo rival) and the Ciaz (Vento rival).

The new 6.5-inch Drive unit packs support for both Google Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with MirrorLink (also available with the 5-inch unit). Volkswagen might add Highline Plus variants of the Polo and the Ameo featuring this system, while offering it in the existing Vento Highline Plus. The upcoming festive season seems to be an appropriate time to offer these updates!
