All-new Toyota Fortuner to be launched on November 07

The SUV will have two diesel options and possibility of a petrol cannot be ruled out.

Toyota Fortuner has been ruling the Indian SUV market for quite some time now and has given a tough time to its competitors like the Ford Endeavour and the Chevrolet Trailblazer. But, according to the recent trends, the Ford Endeavour has started gaining an edge over the Fortuner. Hence, in an attempt to re-establish itself as the segment leader, Toyota will launch the all-new Fortuner on November 07. Also, units of the new car have hence started reaching Toyota dealerships around the country.

This new Fortuner has been due for a long time in the Indian market. Spied at a dealership in Ahmedabad, this black colour model looks handsome with its sleek elongated headlamps with LED DRLs and the extensive use of chrome on the front grille and around the fog lamps. The chrome shoulder line in the side profile accentuates the length of the SUV and the 18-inch alloy wheels complement the masculine looks quite well. The rear too has sleek, elongated lights with a thick chrome badge in the centre.

Mechanically, the car will carry the powertrains from the Innova Crysta. The SUV will have two diesel options and possibility of a petrol cannot be ruled out. The diesel mills are 2.4- and 2.8-litre engines producing 150PS/343Nm and 174PS/360Nm, respectively. The petrol engine is likely to be a 2.7-litre Dual VVT-i unit producing 166PS/245Nm of power and torque. The transmission will be a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic which will be available with the 2.8-litre diesel and the 2.7-litre petrol variants.
