With the rising costs of petrol, many people have been changing over their cars to CNG on the grounds that it ends up being a much less expensive alternative. Indeed, even a few automakers have been putting forth manufacturing plant fitted CNG units on some of their vehicles. Presently, Mahanagar Gas Limited has propelled the main ever CNG-fitted bikes in the Indian market.

The CNG kit for 2-wheelers comprises of 2 cylinders of 1.2 kgs each and they can run up to 120-130 kms on a full tank with an average of 90 kms/kg. The cost per km turns out to be a measly Rs. 0.60/- which is extremely cheap and affordable.
The bikes will get retro-fitted CNG packs made by Lovato. Lovato and in addition ITUK have their CNG packs endorsed by ARAI, Pune and iCAT Gurgaon individually.
Starting now, 18 bikes have been affirmed for CNG transformation. They are: Hero Duet, Hero Maestro, Hero Pleasure, Honda Activa 125, Honda Dio, Mahindra Duro DZ, Mahindra Gusto, Mahindra Gusto 125, Suzuki Access, Suzuki Let’s, Suzuki Swish, TVS Jupiter, TVS Scooty Zest, TVS Wego, Piaggio Vespa, Yamaha Alpha, Yamaha Fascino and Yamaha Ray.
