Swine flu hits Modi

Ahmedabad, Oct. 30: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who tested positive for swine flu Friday morning, has been advised seven-day bed rest.

Mr Modi had a bad cough and cold when he returned from a three-day visit to Russia this week. It was earlier believed this was caused by the biting cold there, but doctors were summoned after he complained of body pain and fever. His sample was sent to the Civil Hospital under a different name.

An isolation ward has been set up at his official residence. His condition was said to be better Friday evening.

Mr Modi has been administered Tamifluand had been actively working and had held a Cabinet meeting on Thursday.
