The laptop dock concept provided a laptop-sized display and a keyboard along with 200GB of additional storage and additional power backup.

At CES 2018, Razer’s Project Linda captured the hearts of the mobile gaming community. Many had shown a positive response to the concept, hoping for Razer to make something similar for interested people. It seems that Razer wants to listen to its fans as reports are pointing towards Project Linda becoming a reality, albeit with the next generation Razer Phone.

If you want to believe the report, then you could be looking at a Razer Phone 2 launching sometime later this year; possibly by September. There are no specifications of this rumoured smartphone mentioned but we expect the company to adopt the Snapdragon 845 along with 10GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, bundled along with the latest Android OS. The present model runs on a Snapdragon 835 chipset along with 8GB of RAM.

However, what makes this rumour exciting is the conceptualisation of Project Linda as a real smartphone dock ready for commercial use. The source claims that Razer is considering launching a smartphone dock for the Razer Phone 2 based on what was shown as Project Linda at CES. The laptop dock concept provided a laptop-sized display and a keyboard along with 200GB of additional storage and additional power backup.

Can Razer pull off such a whacky concept anytime soon? The prototype at CES was working without any issues and we think that it might be a better way to integrate the smartphone and PC experience rather than a Samsung DeX-like arrangement.
