Hyderabad: The action packed 65th Senior National Kabaddi championship is getting more spicier and competitive as the tournament is progressing further here at the GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium in Gachibowli, Hyderabad.

In the women’s section, Indian Railways women channelised their way to the semifinals while in the men’s section Karnataka and Uttarakhand sealed the quarterfinals berths on Wednesday.

In a women’s quarterfinal match, Uttar Pradesh, who won against West Bengal in a thriller on Tuesday, failed to execute their plans well. The Railways women dominated the game with a better show and eventually won the match and semifinal spot by a 39-25 verdict.

Earlier in their pre-quarterfinals too, Railways side came full throttle against Delhi to put them aside by 37-19 scores.

Meanwhile in the men’s pre-quarterfinals, Karna- taka emerged better team after registering a 37-27 victory over Tamil Nadu. In the other pre-quarters match, Uttarakhand came hard at Andhra Pradesh and outclassed them in all the departments to seal their spot in the Last Eight. Uttarakhand won 52-31.
