THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CBI has formally informed the state government its unwillingness to take over the probe into unnatural death of engineering student Jishnu Prannoy. According to sources, CBI Chennai zone joint director sent a letter in this regard to additional chief secretary (home) Subrata Biswas. The CBI pointed out that it had done a review of the investigation by the state police and hence there was nothing much more for the CBI to probe.

Moreover, the CBI is already burdened with a number of cases and therefore there were practical reservations in taking over more probes, the CBI maintained.
